Meet Szilvia Kneusel, coordinator of the Hungarian delegation from Szent László High School in Budapest

At a previous Peacecamp :-)

Hi, my name is Szilvia Kneusel and I am the co-ordinating teacher of the Hungarian delegation. I am 36 years old and I live with my husband in Budapest, Hungary. In Budapest I work as an English teacher at Szent László High School. I have been teaching at this school for thirteen years. I don’t only teach here but I also take part in different projects and student exchanges. I have been to Denmark, Holland, Finland, Belgium and Italy with different groups and participated in an EU project with Italy.
I, myself also spent a year in the USA as an exchange student during my high school years so I experienced what it is like being a stranger somewhere.
My husband is also a teacher, he teaches French though not at the same school. We don’t have children yet so until that we enjoy being with other children/students.
In my free time I like travelling (I have travelled all over Europe, the USA and also Israel), reading, listening to music and going on excursions.

I reckon on a wonderful ten days in Austria this summer. Hungary is really close to Austria but it is a totally different world which is a dream country for me.
I have lived in my conventional milieu until now. I expect from this camp that the world opens up for me, I can get to know new people, new cultures and I comprehend better what is going on nowadays.

3. Dominika Hajdu

Hi! My name is Dominika Hajdu. I go to a chemistry-biology class. I have two cats at home. A 6 year-old boy and a 3 year-old girl. I love playing with them. I’m a half Polish person, because my mother is Polish. I’m able to speak the language and in every year we’re going to visite the other half of the family. During the Hungarian school I was going to a Polish also.
In my free time I like reading. For a sport I horse ride and sometimes I wall climb. In the new school year I’m going to join to the school’s choir.
Peace.I think it’s complex. At first you need to have that at your personality. If your health and your soul is fine at the same time, you’ll be fine. If you’re fine, you’ll see the world in better colour. If you have the balance at you, you can concentrate to the other people. You have to try to have harmonic contacts and friendships. To live in peace we have to adapt for the others and make compromises. And it’s so hard. Most of people just see yourself and not considered to the others needs. We have to make sacrifices. And we have to learn that. That way is so exhausting and difficult but it’s worth to do.

Meet Markus Priller - workshop talks4peace

Markus Priller
My name is Markus Priller. I was born in Switzerland and grew up in South Tirol, Italy, where after several decades of struggle, three different language groups now live together peacefully. I studied history and film science, focusing my studies on the National Socialism in Austria and Europe. After a short career as a scientist I realized that I prefer working with people and began conducting peace projects in both Austria and abroad. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all and being part of the great peace camp experience.
